KodamaNews - February 2026

KodamaNews - February 2026

Hello everyone! We have a lot of important news and updates to share around, so I decided to write a big blogpost to ensure we tackle everything.

For all composers who wished to contribute to our albums this year, here is a quick rundown of our projects:

KodamaSounds Projects in 2026

The deadline for Gensokyo Party Vol. 7 Moriya Barista 2 as well as ECLECTIC RESONANCE Detuned Alloy 2 is still fixed for March 1st. So long as you already have a conclusive WIP and might need more time, an extension can be arranged privately with me (Fivda). For now, the amount of submissions is fairly light, so it is hard to confirm if the albums are still planned for a release during Reitaisai / M3-Spring, or if they will need to be delayed due to the number of submissions being too low. If they are, the albums will be delayed for Fall Reitaisai and M3-Fall of this year instead. I will alert all of the participants of the album as well as former participants if the schedule changes in any capacity, so that the albums match the level of quality that is expected of the circle now.

ECLECTIC RESONANCE TREMOR is still planned with a deadline set to September 1st. The deadline isn’t quite there yet, but make sure to post any work in progress in the appropriate channel to judge whether it will be a fit to the compilation.

KodamaSounds Presence at M3-2026 Spring & Fall

We will have a presence during M3-2026 Spring alongside Rolling Bassline! Make sure to say hi to Yanis. We will be distributing a brand new download card version of ECLECTIC RESONANCE Detuned Alloy, as well as the upcoming sequel ECLECTIC RESONANCE Detuned Alloy 2, if all things go as planned. Four Corners will be distributing a few of our releases as well, but any new content will be distributed by us at KodamaSounds / Rolling Bassline at F-12a. There might be a chance for us to distribute additional merch like stickers. We will be disclosing our available catalog a few days before the event on social media. We hope to see you there!

I am actually planning on going back to Japan with Volumetrique for M3-2026 Fall of this year, which means I will be attending the event in person once again! For this reason, we will do our best to provide physical CDs of TREMOR to celebrate, if our budget follows through. Registrations are far from open yet, but we will be sure to communicate how things go as soon as possible.

Reitaisai 2026

You will be able to acquire a new DLcard version of Gensokyo Party Vol. 3 Moriya Barista, and hopefully, its sequel Gensokyo Party Vol. 7 Moriya Barista 2 of our new and old releases at Four Corners. We are still unsure of the full KodamaSounds selection which will be available at Four Corners’ booth (which will be located at ???), but we will let you know a few days before the event takes place.

COUNTERFEST RECORDS Projects in 2026

COUNTERFEST HEROES 01’s deadline is still fixed to May 16th, with a release planned for June 16th. Meanwhile, Vanilla Parfait’s deadline is fixed to July 10th, with a release planned whenever preparations for release will be complete. We are still missing a lot of interested parties and contributors for this album, which has started a long time ago already. So that we can focus on other tribute albums, we will be releasing the compilation even if the amount of submissions seems relatively poor compared to our standards, as much as it pains us to do so. Any contributions would be appreciated!

Moriya Barista Vinyl

We are happy to contribute with Phantoms Records to produce our very first KodamaSounds vinyl! It is an exclusive edition with a unique analog mastering, hence the name, “Moriya Barista -Analog Edition-”. As a heads up, this is a very limited collector item which will definitely not be at the reach of a lot of people. We do hope that this will appeal to its right audience. Do note that this version of the album is not complete due to the space limitations of a vinyl, so the selection was curated between me and the manager of Phantoms Records. You can purchase it here. Streaming Platforms

Some of our most attentive fans might have already realized that there were significant changes in our streaming distribution. First of all, all of our missing albums since last year were finally added to streaming platforms, including:

  • ECLECTIC RESONANCE UPRISING 3
  • ECLECTIC RESONANCE Memories 2
  • Touhou Fractured Transience Original Soundtrack
  • YGGDRASIL

We apologize for the wait, as some of these albums have been out for release for months now. We were struggling with our previous distributor and chose to move on with Too Lost as our new distributor, which so far has proved to be a pretty conclusive and cheaper alternative, which is much more in line with our general artists-first philosophy and creative direction. Since all of our catalogue was migrated from one distributor to another, there is a chance that your playlists and favourites tracks, as well as statistics, might be lost from one platform to another. We apologize for any issues, and it might be complex to retrieve that information, as the first thing that matters most to us right now is to make sure our music is available there first and foremost. As always, I can only recommend you to switch your music listening habits to Bandcamp and BOOTH instead to make sure you can listen to our albums as soon as they are out and released, as we cannot promise for how long our music will stay available on streaming platforms.

You may have also noticed something different in the metadata of the albums on streaming platforms now, as they display “KodamaSounds” in the artist field as well as the actual artist. This choice is deliberate, and was made during the distributor transition to ensure there is one simple place to redirect all of our content on the same page. It will take some time for us to claim each respective profile for the most major platforms (Apple Music, Deezer, YouTube Music), but it should still be functional on its own no matter which of your streaming platforms is your favorite. The Spotify profile for KodamaSounds can be found here. Make sure to scroll down until you reach the “Featured In” category. We hope this makes your music browsing more practical and simplified without resorting to playlisting.

Uploads on YouTube

We understand that some fans have been frustrated with the lack of exposure our albums get on YouTube, which remains a non-neglectable source of visibility. We will be working extra hard to bring you individual YouTube uploads of our albums, and have already started doing so with YGGDRASIL, uploading any song not previously available on YouTube daily. The uploads will be very arbitrarily uploaded depending on the faculty of our visual staff, so please do not expect any sort of consistency with this. We will prioritize uploading our individual songs if the corresponding artist has no plans to upload their song on their own. It goes without saying that this process will take a while, so please stay patient until your favorite songs get uploaded to the channel.

KODAMA COMET -Stellar Sanctuary- Delay

It goes without saying that, of course, the planned release of Stellar Sanctuary planned for 2025 is long overdue. We apologize for this, as KodamaSounds was clearly our focus for the past year. But it is with our best interest that we do want to expand KodamaSoft further, so that Kodama’s name is not only known for making excellent music albums. We would like to complete the writing of the game before 2027, but we cannot promise the game’s completion before that time. We have started migrating the game to a completely different engine (from TyranoBuilder to Godot), so of course, this affects the game’s development tremendously. The creation tools are much more permissive however, and the overall experience of the game will be on a whole other level of polish. The game will soon reach an incredible 10 year development time, and a lot of life-affecting issues affected its development, mainly my own lack of motivation and, let’s say, mismanagement and planning. I do hope to see this lifelong project conclude as soon as I can, as it has been a major source of frustration to me for all those years. I want it out, and I want it looking as good as possible.

Conclusion

This was a longer KodamaNews post than expected, but we hope to make of 2026 a year that’s just as good as always! Thank you so much for your support, and until next time.
